Somebody said to me, ”But the Beatles were anti-materialistic."  That's a huge myth.  John and I literally used to sit down and say, "Now, let's write a swimming pool."

— Paul McCartney

A must read for anyone working as a musician or interested in the music business.  This book is based on Krueger's essay also titled Rockanomics which was developed to teach young people about economics in an approachable way.

One of the book's major themes is how our society's "Rock Star Culture" shapes our financial culture.  As Krueger describes it, we live in a time of winner take all where a small portion of our population are holding most of the assets.  This is apparent when we glance comparatively at musicians, but the point is also that this trend can recognized beyond the music industry in almost every field.

For Your Pontification

If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music.
